A defamation claim by an Aboriginal art dealer against the Australian Broadcasting Corporation is to proceed in the Northern Territory Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court in Alice Springs has denied an application from the ABC to strike out the defamation claim.

The case relates to a Four Corners television program examining exploitation in the Aboriginal art industry.

Mr Nibbs refers to himself as the "original carpetbagger" in the show.
