25 September – 12 December 2004
The exhibition Crossing Country charts the development of Kuninjku art over the past century to become one of the most dynamic art movements in Australia today.
It is an art of compelling beauty and strength, an inspired fusion of country, culture and community, of tradition and innovation, of the human, natural and supernatural worlds.
Featuring some 300 works, the exhibition includes early and contemporary bark paintings, fibre art, log coffins, works on paper and sculpture by both established and emerging artists.
