Gallery: Beijing Blue

Jointly organised by Beijing Blue Gallery and Warlimpirri Art, this is the first major exhibition of Aboriginal art in Hong Kong. It brings together paintings by a group of both well-known and emerging Australian Aboriginal artists from the Central and Western Deserts and Cape York Peninsula. Contemporary Aboriginal art is one of the most exciting and interesting areas of modern art today. In the last decade, it has achieved an enormous growth internationally with many people around the world enjoying and investing in this form of art. Aboriginal art is also a vital part of one of the world's oldest cultural traditions, spanning over two thousand years.

With a rich heritage and large number of practicing artists, Aboriginal art embraces a very diverse range of constantly developing styles and techniques from the colour-field abstract paintings of the Western Australia Kimberley painters, and artists such as the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye and her brother Kuddjiti Kngwarreye, to the more traditional styles of Pintupi artists such as Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri and Nyurapayia Nampitjinpa. The paintings selected for this exhibition aim to provide an introduction to the variety and richness of Aboriginal art from these regions. Many of the selected artists are sought after by collectors and have work on display in major art collections around the world. Other artists have been selected for the quality and originality of their emerging styles.

For those looking to acquire an original painting both for investment and enjoyment, this exhibition will provide an excellent opportunity to do so. Whether you are an expert or just discovering Aboriginal art for the first time, we wish you a very enjoyable journey into the Dreamtime.
