Three Papunya Tula artists recently exhibited at the biennial Alice Prize. A national contemporary art award, the Alice Prize was first held at the Araluen Cultural Centre in Alice Springs in 1970. George Tjungurrayi, Walangkura Napanangka and Uta Uta Tjangala's widow, Walangkura Napanangka, were all selected to exhibit at this year's event, the 34th in its history. Administered by the Alice Springs Art Foundation, a community-based voluntary organization, the Alice Prize is an invitational exhibition and pre-selection is open to any artist working in Australia.
