The QIAMEA Arts Partnership Program has been a central element in marketing and exporting Queensland's Indigenous arts. The program aims to link artists more effectively to buyers by facilitating partnerships between Queensland's Indigenous artists and reputable galleries, dealers, agents and festival and event organisers.
Current projects include:
- A group of 12 Queensland Indigenous performers and artists from Pormpuraaw on West Cape York will travel to Japan from 16 -25 May as part of an international strategy developed by the Minh Pora Japan Project to promote Queensland Indigenous arts and culture.
- A new book, documenting the artworks of eight proppaNOW artists, will be produced. The book will feature images of artworks by this important Brisbane-based artists' collective and will be used to promote high calibre Queensland Indigenous art to national and international markets.
- This production of a Limited Edition Art Folio by Vincent Serico (1949-2008) - a boxed sets of prints of the artist's paintings on high quality Hahnemuhle (museum quality) paper - is part of the first phase of promotion of this artist. (Under Stage II of the project, a major book will be published, containing critical essays by Australian arts writers on the work of this important Queensland Indigenous artist).
