Aboriginal Art Directory | 02.10.10

The National Gallery of Australia has opened its new wing devoted to one of the largest collections of Australian Aboriginal and Islander art.

The new building in Parkes Place, Canberra, also created a new and more prominent entrance into the National Gallery of Australia.

The building includes 11 new Indigenous art galleries, Gandel Hall — a purpose-built function space — a new expanded shop and sidewalk café.

The new wing was officially launched by Australian Governor-General Quentin Bryce on September 30 and opened to the public on October 1.
