fortyfivedownstairs, one of Melbourne's leading independent arts venues, comprises a theatre and two galleries. The Resident Assistant Curator will be working alongside gallery and theatre staff, assisting with the running of a full arts programme in the multiple spaces. The resident will also be highly involved with the delivery of a significant Indigenous visual arts initiative within the gallery.

This full time residency runs for 9 months starting from August 2011. The role is both hands-on and administrative and involves flexible hours.

This is an Identified Indigenous Position, meaning that it is specifically for someone of Aboriginal heritage.
